We've consolidated them into one honest page instead, and the honest framing matters more here than anywhere else on the site: these are select projects further from the shop, not a second full-coverage service area the way our thirteen metro cities are.

Scheduling a Valley Stair Project
Standard service reaches about 50 miles from the shop. Salem sits right at that edge, so it's the valley town most likely to fall inside standard scheduling; everywhere further south or west in the valley sits outside the standard radius and gets evaluated case by case rather than promised as routine coverage. The same paid site-visit policy applies either way, but at this distance the travel involved is worth acknowledging plainly rather than folding it in quietly. Scheduling and lead time can run longer than an in-metro job too, simply because a Valley project has to fit around the closer-in work that fills most weeks.
None of that changes what you get. Whether it's a custom stair build from scratch or a staircase remodel of what's already there, a Valley client's project gets built in the same shop, by the same crew, as anything we do inside the metro.
Why We're Selective About Valley Projects
Stumptown is a small shop, and that's by design. Taking on the whole Willamette Valley as a full-coverage territory would mean spreading thinner on every job, including the in-metro work that keeps response times fast for closer clients. So Valley projects get chosen selectively: larger custom builds, historic restoration work, and referral-driven jobs where a specific fit outweighs the distance, rather than an open invitation to every town on the list above.
That's a deliberate trade-off, not a limitation we're hiding. A small, family-run shop that says yes to everything ends up slower for everyone, Valley and metro clients alike. Being selective about which Valley projects we take on is part of how response time stays reasonable for the thirteen cities we cover in full.

Do you take projects outside the Portland metro?
Selectively, yes. Larger custom builds, restoration work, and referral-driven projects are the kind of Valley work that tends to make sense given the drive involved.
How does the paid site-visit work for a project this far from the shop?
The same paid, in-person visit applies, with travel factored into scheduling honestly rather than treated as an afterthought. We'll be specific about timing and terms before you commit to anything.
What kind of projects make sense for a Valley client to bring to you?
Larger custom builds, historic restoration, or a project where a Portland-metro-caliber builder is worth the distance. Smaller repair jobs are a harder fit given how far the Valley sits from the shop.
Which towns are in practical range?
Salem and the mid-valley towns near it sit closest to our standard 50-mile radius, the practical range for routine scheduling. Towns further south, Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, and beyond, get evaluated project by project rather than promised as standard coverage. Ask us directly if your town isn't listed.
